Writing a macro that shows the data available and allows you to replace it

Hello,

I've been using Alteryx for a while, but have just started getting into the macros.

Is there a way to make a macro that can see the data before the workflow is run (or maybe run once) so it can prompt the user for a choice of how to handle the data?

For example, you have a field with the following data: 'Years 0 - 3', 'Years 4 - 10', 'Years above 10', 'NA'. In the macro, you select the field to work with, then you are given two choices: the data you want to replace ('NA') and what to replace it with ('Years 0 - 3').

I know it can be done with an IF statement, but I have multiple fields like this and I thought it would save some time instead of writing out an IF statement each time. Plus, I have a chance to get better at writing macros.

Thank you.

You probably want to take a look at analytic apps for the user interaction component: https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Videos/Introduction-to-Applications/td-p/45406

And then afterwards, the ability to chain analytic apps which allows for the results of one workflow to be fed into another: https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Videos/Chained-Apps/td-p/43743

BrandonB,

I really appreciate the quick response. I will take a look at those videos.

Thank you.
