Trying to Prepare a Network Data Install

I am trying to download the Core Data Bundle onto a server that I gain access from a Remote Desktop access and then do a network data install: http://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Knowledge-Base/How-To-Prepare-a-Network-Data-Install/tac-p/1...

When I connect the data bundle into my USB port of my laptop it doesn't recognize the data bundle from the remote desktop access.

Would the only option be to upload the data bundle our AWS EC2 instance and then pull them down again onto that server?

Thank you for your help.

In order to get a remote desktop connection to recognize a device from your local machine that is acting as client for the RDC session, you'll need to redirect the USB device.  Instructions on how to do that in Windows are here:

You suggestion of hosting the installer files on a network drive accessible to the remote machine is probably the best solution however as redirected devices can sometimes be buggy, or may even be disabled by your IT dept.

Thank you Jason. I was unaware that you are able to redirect a USB device. I will take a look into this as an option!

Hi Jason,

Would you know how to do this same procedure of redirecting my USB port on a Mac?

Thank you again for your help.
