All below applies to Alteryx Designer 11.5.1xxx.
A TNS error occur while trying to read a data from Oracle DB via a connection that is defined on a server.
One user was able to go address this issue issue by invoking some sort of wizard which pointed Alteryx to Oracle HOME:
Options > Advanced Options > Manage Data Connections And then in the window that pops-up, click Add Connection > Oracle
Then the window will pop-up to browse to the location of the Oracle install, I just browsed to C:\Oracle.
After that this user was able to read data using that very same connection
However other users not getting that pop-up window which would allow them to point to their Oracle HOME.
1. How to check what local directory is used by Designer for Oracle connection? Because it seems that Alteryx Designer isnt seeing local tnsnames.ora.
2. Did someone else face same issue?
Can all users not see tnsnames.ora ? TNS Names may be disabled on the server if that's the case.
Have you seen this?
