Hello Team,

In the Alteryx Is there any way, I can search for any keyword in the entire input data I have? For example, we do it in the Excel data file, Ctrl+F, and write the word in the search box and hit enter.

Thanks,

Mayank

Unsure of how your data looks. But you could add a unique identifier and transpose the data. Add then a filter tool which is like: Contains([Value],'string')

It will pick out the records that contains your string. This should give you the location.

Hope it helps.

EDIT:

I created a workkflow for a simple illustration

Hi @Learner09 ,

You can use the browse tool after your workflow and click on the 3 dots besides the column  like:

Then you press Filter and as filter condition "Contains string"

That works the same as ctrl f but will show all results. You can obviously also filter the data like @DenisZ  said :-).

you can directly search for the word in the search panel present in the result window if looking for a specific data.

Hi,

If you hit ctrl + f within alteryx designer a find and replace tab will pop up.This will allow you to look up any words and terms within your workflow tool, columns, configuration etc. if that's what you're looking for.

@annedione @Raj @Sebastiaandb @DenisZ  Thank you all for the response and solutions, but I already knew most of these things to search any string.

I am looking for -

For example, We are working on an Excel sheet which massive data, and I wanted to search "Inside sales", I know these Inside sales in many places in different cells and different columns, so simple I press Ctrl + F and write word inside sales in the search box and hit enter and excel directly jump on the inside sales cell and I keep entering to know what all cells have inside sales.

So how is this function I use in Alteryx? I have Massive data files, and for analysis purposes, there are several instances in which I have to search the specific words or sales segments or rep names, etc. to see the data.

If anyone knows about this function please let me know

Thanks,

Mayank

Hi @Learner09 ,

Press ctrl+ F in Alteryx and you'll get the left box, if you then enter a word Alteryx will track all tools for you and cells in which a particular value is available.

Edit: Lol @annedione already mentoined it... i just clicked the link in the e-mail haha.

Greetings,

@Sebastiaandb here is the just sample data. Could you please drop this on the canvas as input and search "Inside sales", and share your results?

@Learner09  You' won't obtain any result by searching 'Inside sales' just with your input file in this case ( if there is no other tool following). I beleive what you're are looking for is the search bar within the result window maybe which will aloow you to look for a word: term within your data set.
