I'm an accounting student and while auditing other companies, we often have to conduct statistical analysis. To do so, we must choose a sample of the population and its data. I've been using the Sample tool provided by Alteryx and believe that the software makes this process go by quite quickly. Are there other methods that can be used to do this action as well?
aside from what @Emil_Kos mentioned - you can also (if you wanted to go the extra mile) use a formula tool to add a random number to your data set and then filter based on that number. By far the easiest way is to use Create Samples (which is good for hold-out sets for machine learning applications), Sample or Random Sample.
