Same .sas7bdat files, 2 very different sizes

I wrote a .sas7bdat file from a .yxdb and it ended up being ~49GB. I then went to update the value of an existing field for a subset of records and when I created a new .sas7bdat file it ended up being ~198GB!!! They both have the same number of fields and same number of records, and reading them into a browse in an Alteryx workflow yields the same size results (~1.6M records and 1.4GB). I even checked to ensure that the field types/sizes were the same using the Field Info tool on each version of the input and they matched perfectly.

Has anyone seen this issue before and have a solution for it?

@CTubbs Have you tried creating a new .sas7bdat file? Do you get the same file size or is it ~49 GB?

@DiganP - do you mean like just reading in the larger file and re-outputting?

@CTubbs Re-outputting to a new file name.

Got ya. No I have not, but I am going to try that now while also using the saved Select settings from the original input to force field types/sizes to their previous state (if any are different for one reason or another).
