I am trying to calculate percentile on one particular field. However, it doesn't seem to be that easy as the sql server is outdated or i could have used percentile_cont. Is there any other option?
Hi,
I think, Microsoft introducted PERCENTILE_CONT in SQL Server 2012, so if you are usingan older version, it will not be available.
In alteryx, the Summarize tool provides a summary process "PERCENTILE", that should work for you. Just select the field you
want to calculate percentile for, and select the percentile you want.
The only drawback is, that you can't do it "In-DB", so you have to use a Data Input tool to extract data from SQL server to Alteryx.
Best regards
Roland
