SMTP fails in Mail Tool after switching to version 2018.3.4.51585

By specifying the SMTP (i.e. entering my company's SMTP Server) in the SMTP input box, I was able to use/modify the Mail Tool after upgrading to 2018.4 


I have tried doing this in 2018.4 as well but it will not work. I have spent hours now with my IT team trying to figure this out, but nothing is working. I can't believe they would change this for such an important feature for the product without introducing a way to make it work properly.

I had the same issue and it was easily resolved by setting the "SMTP" as "" in the email tool

For those of you following this thread, as of the 2019.3 version of Alteryx Designer we have authentication functionality within the Email Tool. Users can now enter their credentials (username & password), select an encryption method, and connect to the appropriate port number.
