Regulate extent of dampening for ETS forecast tool

Hello all,

I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to regulate the inflection point for forecasted trend dampening in ETS Forecast tool.

Is it possible to set up from, let's say, which day I want my trend to start dampening? Or are there any other ways to play with the forecast smoothing in future periods?

Hi @annasolyanik, 

Currently, trend dampening is only an on/off setting if it is changed from auto (the default). An R tool in the ETS macro sends a true/false value to the algorithm with no adjustable parameters.

I suggest adding a post to the Designer Ideas board on Community for that feature. Designer Product Ideas If others like and comment on the suggestion, it gets more attention from Product Managers.

If you code in R, you might try creating a custom script with the forecast package. This link has details about the package forecast.pdf.
