Reading an excel file from sharepoint

Zaid

Hi,

I have found a lot of posts regarding how to read an excel file in the sharepoint drive floating in the community. I have tried solutions listed, but none of them seem to work in my case.

Can anyone please guide me how can I read an excel file stored in the sharepoint directly from the alteryx designer.

Thanks

Zaid

Hey @LordNeilLord, I am trying to connect in the same way that u have mentioned in the highlighted area. The steps are listed below.

1. Getting the folder details by opening the location via File Explorer.

2. Copying the path shown in the explorer and removing "https:" from the path. Removing "%20" with " ".

Now when I am giving the path  in an input of directory tool, I am still getting the same error

Further help please.

Thanks

Zaid

Hey @Zaid

You need to do more than that, you need to follow the path i highlighted in my last post exactly...

\\yoursite.sharepoint.com@SSL\DavWWWRoot\sites\[the rest or the path here]

This first part is critical to connect and must be structured like this.

I get this error when I reformat the link according to the pattern you provided.

Error: Input Data (142): Internal Error: STD Exception in thread: boost::filesystem::status: Access Denied. Before opening files in this location, you must first add the web site to your trusted sites list, browse to the web site, and select the option to login automatically:

Trusted Sites in IE is managed by the system admin, so I can't add any sites.

Any ideas?
