Reading TSV files

Hi,

I can't seem to open TSV files in my Alteryx designer but I'm almost certain that these files are supported. When I try to drag and drop my tsv file onto the canvas it doesn't work and when I use the input tool to open the file, it doesn't appear in the list (which means that it's not supported?).

Has anyone been able to read their tsv files?

Hi @akasubi 

TSV files are supported, but require an extra step.

Use the normal Input dialogue to add a file, then manually change to show 'All files' as shown here - your TSV will now appear:

You should now see a 'Resolve File Type' dialogue box, because Alteryx does not automatically recognise the TSV file. Select 'Read as delimited text' and use the 'Tab' option to read in your file.

Ah thank you! I'd initially selected "all data files" from the file type dropdown not realising there was an option for "all files".

I can confirm that the file can be read in Alteryx.
