Read in more than one filetype files from Directory Tool

I suspect it's not possible, but anyone know how you can pull, say, a list of xlsx and csv files only using the Directory Tool?

*.xlsx will get you Excel files

*.csv will get you CSV files

Could you also do something like *.xlsx|*.csv to get either excel or csv files?

I appreciate I could just filter or union two directory tools, but I'm difficult.

Hi @PhilipMannering ,

Wouldn't a *.* file specification allow you to do that?

Maybe I am missing something in the question.

EDIT : Oh I see, so maybe you want to only keep those files, just by using the directory tool?

Cheers,

@PhilipMannering ,

 I'm relieved that you're not trying to solve this conundrum using regex!

 If you use batch macros you can execute separate supporting macros for each file type and Union the results to allow for likely data type inconsistencies.

to your users it will appear as a single input tool allowing for one or many file types.

cheers,

@AngelosPachis Yeah, but it would pull in other files as well.
