SOLVED

Outer Join with Blanks

Hi everyone,

Hoping this is a simple question since I'm fairly new

Suppose I have two tables:

IDMetric1Metric2
153
2106
3159

IDMetric 3Metric 4
347
4814
51221

I want to Join them to get the following output:

IDMetric 1Metric 2Metric 3Metric 4
15300
210600
315947
400814
5001221

Again, it feels like I'm missing something obvious here (I hope).

Thanks for the help!

Hi @PaulMRichard

You need to use a Join and Union the L, J and R anchors of the Outputs all together.

In this case, you might also use the Data Cleansing tool to replace Nulls with 0's.

Use the Join Multiple tool along with data cleansing to achieve this

@Avinash_K I always forget that this tool exists.

True. Join Multiple is a way easier solution in this case.

@Thableaus That’s the beauty of Alteryx , so many ways to do one thing ... I have realized that we all tend to have our favorite tools in Alteryx which we use frequently and slowly forget about the vast availability of other tools ;-). visiting the community frequently keeps me aware of some of this less used tools .
