So I finally got around to creating a batch macro to load a bunch of xlsx files at once and then I couldn't figure out how to use it. Just in case you missed this too, here's a little tip for after you've created a batch macro workflow and saved it.
A macro can be added to a workflow without installing it. Do this by right-clicking on a blank-portion of your workflow and selecting Insert > Macro.., then navigate to the location of the macro you'd like to insert.
And yes it is that simple. Configure Macro
Right click on blank canvasNavigate to saved macro workflow
The macro shown below is looking for a full path for the excel file which it will then use as a variable to replace the file path in the input tool (presumably). So you need to feed it the full path of your list of files you want to import. The Directory tool should take care of this for you. Note - make sure your macro setting is selected for "Wait for all iterations to run" otherwise it will error just like the dynamic input tool.
As far as the right click shortcut - you'll just have to have the macro open in editing mode in order to use it, but you are absolutely correct HUGE time saver!!
