Debating whether or not to upgrade to the latest version of Alteryx Designer?
Please help with the following issue.
I have a data set in the following format.
the number of columns and rows is not fixed,
i have to consolidate them like mentioned below.
and it goes on, to explain the position of values to be compared the data set is like this
can you anyone please help?
thanks in advance
Bit hard to work out the solution based on what you posted as i can't see what rules you are applying to the data.
Can you provide an example input. and what the parent child relationships definition is?
Thanks for responding.
the relationship is that,
1) a belongs to 1
2) c,d &e belong to a
3) h,i belongs to c and j belongs to d and k,l belongs to e
and the columns go on, each child has its own child, now i have to route all child till the end to its parent (including the middle children)
So i need the output in the following format
hope this clarifies your question, kindly let me know if you need more information.
So there are some things that need claryfying, hence if you have a sample input file better.
In your example.
c, d and e belong to a.
but d also belongs to e?
I am really sorry, i am retrieving directly from company server, so cant share any sample.
But to clarify your question,
Values in column 2 belongs to respective values only in column 1
Values in column 4 belongs to respective values only in column 3
Values in column 6 belongs to respective values only in column 5
Values in column 8 belongs to respective values only in column 7
only c, d and e belong to a.
and j belongs to d
we have to consider pairs of column (1,2) (3,4) (5,6)(7,8)...and it goes on
The attached should do it.
IT first figures out the Parent and the Children to produce a list of Parent to Child Relationships.
It then literately combines parents and children to re-produce the hierarchy.
The final bit only keeps the 'valid' hierarchies on the basis of the number levels per Highest Level value.
I couldn't open the alteryx flow, it says I am using older version. But this is the latest version (18.104.22.168815) I have been given by company.
Can you please help
