Keep the value only of first row per each unique name

Hello,

I would like to duplicate the first value down per each unique name.

This is my current data -

NameCategory
Sarah Live
Sarah Not Live
Sarah
Sarah

Then I would like the output to be -

NameCategory
Sarah Live
Sarah Live
Sarah Live
SarahLive

I'm trying multi row formula but can't quite get there (I'm new to this!) so would appreciate the help!

Thanks

Sarah

Hi @Slawson5

Here's 3 ways:

  1. Multi-row: Use an if statement to check if the name is equal to the previous row's name
  2. Sample: Take the first row for each Name, then join back to the dataset
  3. Summarize: Take the first row for each Name, then join back to the dataset

That’s great - just what I needed. Thank you!
