When using the join tool, is there a way to do a "select all" or do you have to select each column 1 by 1?
If you're referring to which fields are visible coming out of the join, you can highlight multiple fields and select/deselect using the "Options" drop down to navigate to Select > Select Highlighted:
For the join criteria fields you'd be selecting one field at a time in the "Left" / "Right" drop down menu

If you have a unique ID field, you can use Transpose before Join, so that you only join on a unique ID field, name, and value, instead of joining on 20 different columns.
