Informatica and Alteryx

I am new to Alteryx. My company would like to understand the difference between Informatica and Alteryx for business analysts and data analysts. Do the two integrate with each other? Or used side by side? What are some of the key highlights of Alteryx over Informatica?

TIA.

I'd recommend reaching out to your account executive to get a deeper dive into this, but crowd sourcing here is a great way too.

For me Informatica is a great ETL platform aimed at IT professionals to build pipelines, not so much aimed at business analysts or data analysts.

Alteryx on the other hand has been designed to be used by business professionals, or what we call data/knowledge workers.

Typically that means the onramp to learning and using Alteryx is much easier than Informatica and requires less specialist skills.

Given they originate from different places in the business, I often see them working side by side.

Alteryx becomes the business tool of choice for data, using it across many different business lines. Often prototyping projects and processes.

Informatica is used for more central functions when it comes to data engineering and ETL. Often taking a prototype from Alteryx and building the pipeline in Informatica.

Now in reality it's not as black and white as the above and there are areas of cross over between the two, hopefully that gives you a good summary to get started.

My recommendation would be to trial Alteryx for your business needs and see how it pans out.
