In Database row creation

HI Guys

I am trying to prepare some data so that i can use it in a coxcomb diagram in tableau and as such I need to have a row for each category for each date. As a result i am trying to do this by taking our calendar db and then add a row for each of the products within it.

So i am starting with:

Date
01/01/2017
02/01/2017
03/01/2017
04/01/2017
05/01/2017
06/01/2017
07/01/2017

Product
Books
Cloaks
Helicopter

and want to end up with:

DateProduct
01/01/2017Books
01/01/2017Cloaks
01/01/2017Helicopter
02/01/2017Books
02/01/2017Cloaks
02/01/2017Helicopter
03/01/2017Books
03/01/2017Cloaks
03/01/2017Helicopter
04/01/2017Books
04/01/2017Cloaks
04/01/2017Helicopter
05/01/2017Books
05/01/2017Cloaks
05/01/2017Helicopter
06/01/2017Books
06/01/2017Cloaks
06/01/2017Helicopter
07/01/2017Books
07/01/2017Cloaks
07/01/2017Helicopter

Would this be possible?

Thanks

Ro

Hi Ro,

in this case, I would suggest that you create a cross join situation for the indb to work. The way I did it was create a "1" column for both of the input tables then joined on that field. because every row is the same in the 1 column every row from the date data set gets joined to every row from the product data set
