How to Geocode Korean Address

Hi,

I realize Alteryx does not have a built-in tool to geocode Korean addresses. Any advice on how to do this in Alteryx?

Note that Google Maps API can’t work on Korean Addresses.

Hi @chineeloh

Geocoding requires a database of addresses and Alteryx doesn't come pre-installed with geocoding data for any country. There are data products available for purchase from Alteryx for you to use the built-in geocoding tools, but I don't believe Korea is available. You can double check the data product availability with your Alteryx representative. This also let's them know that there's interest in this product.

For the time being, you'll need to use an API from another source to perform this task. Using the Download tool, it's possible to communicate with many different APIs. A quick search indicated that ArcGIS has an API that might be an option to check out:

Here are some Community links that might be helpful regarding working with the ArcGIS API:

Thanks @CharlieS for the insights.

I've also noticed that there's Mapbox Search macro that can do geocoding (see here: https://gallery.alteryx.com/#!app/Mapbox-Search/5d780d978a933711e4444045), although payable. But I notice that they support Korean language, so probably will give this a try.

Thanks again!
