Hey @Jaydeepv,

Thank you for the message.

There is currently no dedicated connector for Azure Cosmos DB. I would suggest use the idea section of Alteryx Community (https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Product-Ideas/idb-p/product-ideas) to request one.

That said, given that there is an existing REST API for Cosmos DB (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/cosmos-db/), it should be possible to access it through a Download tool (example: https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Knowledge-Base/APIs-in-Alteryx-cURL-and-Download-Tool/ta-p/...).

Kind regards,

Cosmos DB has an ODBC driver now that worked for me to connect to the DB.

Hey Andrew,

We were trying to recreate what you did. Can you please share what steps you followed to connect from Alteryx to Cosmos DB?

We followed the initial step of installing the odbc driver on our IAAS alteryx host and attempted to connect to our Cosmos DB, but are unable to connect with a 404 error.

Can you share what steps youre following to configure Cosmos DB?

Did you perform a migration or did you create new databases in Cosmos?

Thanks for any help you can share. There is not a lot of documentation regarding this and we are hoping a PAAS solution for MongoDB in Azure will provide options for scalability and redundancy.

Regards.

Are you looking to connect desktop designer to Cosmos DB?

We used the SQL API for our Cosmos DB and not the MongoDB API.

I'm not sure if the odbc driver works the same for the MongoDB Cosmos setup, as I've just tried it with the SQL API.

I've also had some luck with writing python in Alteryx for working with Cosmos DB but again that's all with the SQL API which may differ depending on how you setup your CosmosDB

Hey Andrew,

Thanks for the response. We are working with Alteryx Server. We are new to Alteryx and trying to setup in Azure. While working with Presales they advised us to consider using MongoDB Atlas on Azure. https://www.mongodb.com/cloud/atlas/azure-mongodb

We will check this out and see if it works for our needs.

Got it.  I think you might want to check out this thread https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Server/MongoDB-Atlas-as-Server-Persistence-Layer/td-p/50481...

It sounds like you're looking to setup your persistence layer your Alteryx Server in an Azure Mongo DB.

This thread I believe is more about using an Azure Cosmos DB for a data source for the desktop designer.

Thanks Andrew, this is exactly what we are looking for!
