Help joining multiple tables with inconsistent fields

Hi everybody -- new to the community (and to Alteryx). Thanks for your help!

I'm trying to join multiple tables. Each table has three columns: date, region, and a metric. The date ranges of each table overlap but do not exactly match. Each table has a different metric in the third column. Here's what the tables look like:

DateRegion# of apples sold
1/1/18A4
1/1/18A3
1/2/18B2

DateRegion# of bananas sold
1/2/18A5
1/2/18B3
1/3/18C2

DateRegion# of peaches sold
1/1/18A2
1/1/18C3
1/3/18B5

I want to join these tables into a single master table that looks like this:

DateRegion# of apples sold# of bananas sold# of peaches sold

1/1/18

A402
1/1/18B300
1/1/18C003
1/2/18A050
1/2/18B230
1/2/18C000
1/3/18A000
1/3/18B005
1/3/18C020

Do you know how I can build this new table? Thank you!

You can use the Union tool. In this case the Auto Config by Name works, but in other cases you can union based on position or a manual alignment. This can be followed by the Data Cleanse tool to replace nulls with zeros.

Hi @v-ga

Just remember to also add a summarise tool. Since some of your dates and regions repeat, you'd want to make sure that these are in one row.
