Formatting Excel Output files

Hi,
I have been trying to write to the existing Excel file in the specified range without changing the excel format .
I used the configuration:
1. Output options :Overwrite Sheet
2.In the output path  I have specified sheet name : "Sheet1$A2:Z"
When I run the workflow i'm having troubles in writing the data.
I would highly appreciate if anyone can tell me where the problem is .
Thanks a lot in advance 🙂

Hi @QurrathAmeena

Can you say more about what kind of trouble you're having? Is there an error message?

Two thoughts:

  1. Can you confirm 'Preserve Formatting on Overwrite' is checked?
  2. Try adding a number after 'Z'. For example "Sheet1$A2:Z1000000"

Thanks for the reply @Luke_C ,
I'm not sure where to find the "Preserve Formatting on Overwrite"?

The configuration of your output tool should look something like this. What version of Alteryx are you using?

hi @QurrathAmeena

I think you'll need to consider updating to at least 2020.1. Looking at the release notes, preserving formatting was a feature introduced then.

Will try updating and see if it works.
Thanks again!
