Flexnet License Site Issues

OK - is it just me or is the Alteryx.Flexnetoperations.com  license management site not the friendliest?

 

On the View Licenses page it shows all licenses going back several years. A basic need is to show only licenses which haven't expired, but that is not an option.You cannot even sort on the expiration column while you can sort on most others columns.

 

I tried an "Advanced Search" and chose  expiration date after 2019-10-29 and none of my licenses which expire in 2020 appear - I get a blank list.

 

Similarly on the administer machines page you cannot filter to hide expired licenses or even on the licenses column (which doesn't sort either).

 

The help link on the page doesn't bring you to help specific to that page but the general activation help front page. After several clicks I found this page:

But as highlighted below the help is incomplete (doesn't list Machine types or the difference between Active and Inactive)

Lots of room for improvement here.

Thank you for your post! Our licensing development is currently aware of several of the current short comings with the licensing portal, and is working with our licensing partner, Flexera, to improve the experience as a whole. However, we greatly appreciate your feedback on how we can improve it and which points in the portal could do with enhancement the most. 

 

If you have thoughts on specific feature enhancements or new features that would be beneficial to the portal, you can also submit them over on the Designer Idea Board, where the feature will have better visibility with our development teams.

 

Thank you again for your feedback and patience while we enhance the licensing portal and products as a whole!

Hi,

 

Are there any logs anywhere (within a db) that would provide the following data:

*I'm assuming the portal is connected to a db...

 

  • When a license was activated
    • The machine name
    • The user
  • When a license was revoked
    • The machine name
    • The user

Hi @KylieF 

 

Is there any update on this? Six months down the road and the search functionality doesn't work. I just attempted to view all the licenses which expire after today by:

 

1) Going to View Licenses

2) Choosing Advanced Search

3) Choosing Expiration Date - after - and used the calendar to select today's date

 

I did not receive the correct list.

 

I did play around with it and can see that it is only returning licenses which have available seats - but that is not what it should return. It should show all the licenses which are current. 

I did place this is in Ideas forum but to me this a a bug and not an idea.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Are you able to send this issue to fulfillment@alteryx.com? They can then log this appropriately and hopefully get it resolved soon.
