Is it possible for alteryx to find solutions based on certain criteria subject to certain constraints? For example, I am trying to determine which Furniture items were allocated to living rooms based on the total cost of the living room in that specific house. For example based on the below data, I can see that Furniture #855 and #898 were allocated to House #9718 living room. Is there a way for alteryx to compile a list of all the furniture that make up the respective House' Living Room cost?
House # | Cost of Living Room |
9718 | 2624 |
6149 | 3520 |

Hi @yuganda ,
You can use the optimization tool, I think. You can select the constraints and the result you want to achieve, but it shows only one possible answer.
For your problem, it only contains a set of 2 furnitures or it can be unlimited number of ?

House #9718 contains two sets of furniture, but House#6149, contains only 1 Furniture#850 based on my data, so the number of furniture in the living room can be any sum of furniture that total to the cost of that house's living room. However, there may be cases where any subset of furniture cost do not agree to the total in the living room, in which case there is no solution. Can the optimization tool provide an output for all the House # that have a possible solution, or can it only do one House at a time?
Hi @yuganda ,
I'm attaching an example here showing how to do it.
Since the optimization tool would not show all possible solutions, I've created manually all the possible cenarios considering 1 to 3 furnitures.
Let me know if this works for you.
