Exporting to existing excel file

Asteroid

@MarqueeCrew

Hi There,

Could you please help me a sample workflow regarding this. So, my scenario is that i have an existing multi-tabbed excel with data and pivots. The goal is to refresh these pivots and replace the data tabs with the new data processed by Alteryx.

Please help. I'm new to Alteryx and have been struggling with this.

Thanks.

@Bhavika,

When you have "existing data", I assume that you have a "Raw_Data" tab that you can use Alteryx to write to the file and change the OUTPUT tool option (#3) to:  Overwrite Sheet (Drop)

Within Excel, if you go to a PIVOT table, you can see an "ANALYZE" tab at the top of the screen.  Within that tab on the left side of the screen you will see "Options".  Select Options and then a dialogue box appears.  Now select the DATA tab.

Check the "Refresh data when opening the file" box.

Now when you write from Alteryx to Excel the pivot table will appear as magically refreshed when someone opens the file.

Please try this procedure and see if it works for you.

Cheers,

Mark
