Exit a workflow execution after a condition

Hi Everyone,

i would like to exit a workflow execution after a conditional test, i don't know if it's possible ...

For example, after checking a column in a file, if a criteria is not ok, I would like to exit with a message.

Many thanks for helping a newbie.

@Steph81 ,

Yes!  You can use a TEST tool to generate an error.  By setting your configuration settings (runtime) to cancel running workflow on error, you can further limit the execution of the workflow.  Similarly, you can use the MESSAGE tool for the same purpose.   The message tool has a finer degree of control.

Cheers,

Hi @Steph81 ,

It is totally possible to do it!

You can use a test tool with a field info, both from developer category.

Take a look at the attached workflow and let me know if that works for you.

Hi @Steph81,

You can do this on different ways,

One of them is to use the message tool.

I test if today is end of the Month.

If it is, first workflow then the flow continues,

But if it is not the end of the month (second workflow) then the workflow stops with an error. (you can decide the message type)

attached an example:

Let me know if you have questions

Ok, thanks for your answer, it works by using an another tool !

There is a little error in your second workflow, maybe a quick copy and paste 🙂
