Excel .XLSB Character Length Limitation

Hi All --

I am trying to bring in an Excel file that is in .XLSB format. It appears that the data comes in as a string with a Size of 255. There doesn't seem to be a way to make that size bigger in the configuration and some of the fields have significantly more data then 255 characters and get cut off. Is there anything I can do about it?

The field in Excel has 741 characters, but the XLSB only shows 255 of it.

hi @smoskowitz ,

it would be good if you could share some sample data/workflow, so I am shooting from the hip here.

I created a mock file with 927 characters in each record. I used file type Excel legacy, with a browsing tool I am able to see the 927 characters.

What file format are you using?

I also noticed .xlsb was very slow to read by Alteryx, so not sure that is the most optimal extension from an ETL perspective, but maybe changing it is may not be an option.
