Error: Unable to load the Rcpp package - Use the R installer provided by Alteryx

Meteoroid

Capture2.PNGR Terminal IssueCapture3.PNGAlteryx Error MessagesCapture4.PNGRcpp Installed in my Alteryx Path

I have a code that runs perfectly in RStudio. However, when I try to run it (or any code) using the R tool in Alteryx, I get the error message that I made the subject of this post in my Alteryx workflow. Rcpp is installed in my R-3.3.2 folder within Alteryx. When I try to open the R.exe terminal that is connected to Alteryx (v 3.3.2) I get six warning messages before I enter a command:

Warning message:
package "methods" in options("defaultPackages") was not found
During startup - Warning messages:
1: package 'datasets' in options("defaultPackages") was not found
2: package 'utils' in options("defaultPackages") was not found
3: package 'grDevices' in options("defaultPackages") was not found
4: package 'graphics' in options("defaultPackages") was not found
5: package 'stats' in options("defaultPackages") was not found
6: package 'methods' in options("defaultPackages") was not found

All of the default packages have been installed within my R path. I manually copied them over from my folder for my version of R that is separate from Alteryx.

Also, when I attempt to install any package within the R terminal for Alteryx, I get this message:

> install.packages("Rcpp")
Error: could not find function "install.packages"

Has anyone had a similar issue?

Hi @gregory1,

Based on the error message(s), there is something incorrect in your R installation (not only Rcpp). You mentioned that you had copied the files instead of installing them. Is that correct?

I would suggest to uninstall the Predictive tools, remove c:\Program Files\Alteryx\R-3.3.2 and reinstall the Predictive tools. Then, if any new package is needed, use the app described there to ensure that right versions are installed.

Kind regards,

Finally able to resolve this issue. Thanks.

I didn't have to delete anything. I went to

Local Disk (c) > Program Files > Alteryx > R-3.4.4 > bin

then, I opened the R console and wrote this,

install.packages("Rcpp")

Then, I reopened Alteryx and was able to run predictive tools.

THANKS!

That's been really helpful @SamuelKr

I solved it that way too!

Thanks!
