Designer| Load workflow - Root element missing

Hi All, I am trying to load a file after Alteryx crashed. However, I am getting below error message. The most common suggestion in the community pages were to overwrite the .bak file with .yxmd extension. However, even that results in the same error message. Please can someone suggest how to recover the workflow?
