Convert String to Double for Amount

Hi!

I am new to Alteryx. I hope you can help me.

I have a field string for my amount "3,359.83-" , is it possible to convert this to "-3359.83" and make the field to double ?

or is it just "3359.83-" and make the field to double? Does Summing it up doesn't affect the total value?
