To @MarqueeCrew or anyone else:
I have been using CREW macros for a while and have enjoyed the extra layer of flexibility and creativity they offer. However, our company is extremely hesitant of having people use them as they believe downloading from a third-party site could compromise financial data. Has anyone experienced this type of vetting within their companies before?
Is there any information that can be used in defense of the safety of these and the information that is used in a workflow?
Best,
Solved! Go to Solution.
I haven't heard that before, but it's very easy to see what's going on inside of the macro itself. Just right click on a macro and use the 'Open Macro Option'
Once open, you can see all of the tools that are being used, and how. As an additional step, you can even get down to the actual XML of the macro by selecting XML view in the workflow config pane.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Jeff, I figured that would be the easiest way.
I understand the caution. To install the macros includes the runner macros which are executables. All new macros are being placed into the Alteryx gallery for that reason. I would be happy to talk to your organization about the macros.
i will private message you with my contact information.
cheers,
