Nope, you can run a designer on ec2... licensing just may need to be adjusted aside mentioned before to deal with serverOS. You would not be able to run desktop automation though as that addon is not available on ServerOS.
I have a related AWS Alteryx Designer license question. While creating the streaming app in the Image Builder portion of Appstream 2.0, the license authenticates with no problem. However, when subsequent instances are launched from our Appstream Fleet, the licensing does not carry through. We presume that the method to resolve this process would be to set up an Alteryx License server, and then recreate the streaming app through Image builder using the license server rather than the license key. Is this something you can assist with, or is there another method you would recommend for configuring Alteryx designer through AWS Appstream 2.0? Also, if you have any recommendation for specific resource allocations in Appstream (such as best instance types) that would be greatly appreciated. We were told that a license server was not recommended, but were not given any suggestions on how to solve the issue.
