Hello Everyone
If you configured your ODBC via the ODBC Data Sources (64 bit or otherwise) and then you had a good test, yet subsequently received a Connection Error, you may have an issue similar to what I had.
In order to diagnose you need to utilize your logs to see exactly, however, first try this:
Open the ODBC Data Sources and then Configure the Data Source that you were using.
Under Host name, use Control-A to copy and then Backspace to delete out the host name and then manually type in the host name.
-You have likely included a line break when you copied and pasted the host from somewhere else
-In my case, there was a copied line break that you could not see in the Host Name. The ODBC Data Sources will remove the line break when testing , but the Alteryx Input Tool will not, resulting in a Good Test, but a 1170 error when you try to connect. This can be downright excruciating.
-As of the date of this posting, this issue has been raised as hopefully it will be resolved in the future
