Alteryx Designer - How to automate and schedule reports

Hello all,

We have recently purchased Alteryx Designer and we have been trying to figure out how to automate and schedule reports to be sent via email to other stakeholders.

Could you please advise if there is a way around this, that doesn't require purchasing another license?

If not, do we need Alteryx Server, or just the add on Scheduler?

I appreciate your help in advance.

Thanks,

Rania

Hi @raniasatnaoui

An Alteryx Server license is used to take the Designer workflows that are created on an end user's machine and then make them productional on a Server. This will be required if you are looking to automate and schedule these on a cadence in a centralized environment. More information can be found here: https://www.alteryx.com/products/alteryx-platform/alteryx-server

Thank you for your prompt response! I have been told, that there is another way to schedule reports that does not require purchasing Server.

The Server is required if you'd like to completely automate and centralize your scheduled reports.

There is another product called Alteryx Scheduler that you can purchase if you only need the scheduling functionality. This will allow you to run workflows on an automated cadence without having to manually run them. However, this is limited by the fact that your machine does need to be on when the schedule is running. You can contact your Account Executive for more information, but it does sound like this will fit your needs.
