Download Tool - support corporate proxy

Hi there,

The download tool currently does not work if the user is behind a corporate proxy setup - and the only way to download web-content is using CURL.

This is a significant impediment because this prevents almost all corporate alteryx users from being able to access this capaibilty

Could you please look into using the proxy settings that the workstation uses to access the internet in a corp env?

Some proxy enhancements were made for the 2022.2 FIPS Release and will also be in the upcoming 2022.3 GA Release, including enabling Proxy support with AMP Engine. 

Bypass proxy is supported only when using Manual proxy setup. As shown in the Proxy settings screen, if the user Downloads from ftp://abc.com/ and put host abc.com in bypass field, the download would bypass the proxy server.

We are in a VDI setup of corporate environment and dont have access to modify any system settings. Hence we cannot change bypass Proxy or LAN setting in our Desktop Workspace.

The download tool currently does not work if the user is behind a corporate proxy setup.

The download tool is essentially useless for any external REST API's as we need to pass proxies in the download tool request.

We are still receiving “HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Authentication Required” error on running.

This is a significant impediment because this prevents almost all corporate alteryx users from being able to access this capaibilty.

Since you have marked this idea as implemented, can you please provide the details as to how we can pass the proxy details in Alteryx Download Tool?
