Amazon S3 input tool with more formats available

Hello,

Regarding the Amazon S3 tools in Alteryx Designer, only 4 file formats are supported.

We would like to see also the following formats: .xls and .xlsx

This idea has been accepted as a candidate for future release! While we cannot provide an ETA at this time on when this feature will be released, we'll do our best to update this idea once information is available.

since XLSX was introduced 14 years ago, we are not adding XLS support into our new connectors, like Sharepoint or Box. Is XLS really essential for your use to be supported by S3 tools or XLSX would be sufficient?

Yes, XLSX would be sufficient.

S3 tools in Designer 23.2 were updated to support XLSX format as well. At this moment, they are, however, able only to read, create and overwrite whole file. Appending sheet or adding a sheet options will come later.
