Hi All,

Im actually using resdhift DB as source and extracting the data and storing it in windows server. BUt while writng the data to server im getting access issues. I can able to provide access but i want to know the userid to which I can provide access. How can i know the userid which is writing the .yxdb file to server?

If you are logged onto your desktop and are trying to put that yxdb to a server that would be your user account then on your desktop. You can modify the run as user account in the Alteryx system settings to be an account that has permission to write there. If it is all linked in AD and on same domain I would presume it should work if your account has access to that server.

As @Inactive User says - this is one of the most common problems that folk have when using the server environment, is getting your head around who the server is acting as.

By default, everything that the server is running is running in the security context of the server account (in other words, when the server accesses this folder it's user "AlteryxServer" (or whatever the user ID of your alteryx server is) that's accessing this share, not your own login / kerberos ID) - so if you have a shared folder, just make sure that you grant access to the folder to the Alteryx server account (the server admins can give you the login ID for the server).

I didn't know that you could do an impersonation to run as a different user - thank you @Inactive User - learned something new this morning (strange for a Tuesday morning :-))
