sample 10% of total amount

Hello,

I have a requirement to create a sample of records where the dollar amount of the records is 10% of the total.

I don't see an exact match with the sample tool but I was interested if anyone has any ideas.

Hi Michael,

See Attached.

The process is two fold.

1) Create a random ID for each record, and sort the data by that random ID

2) Find the running total dollar amount and keep records where the running amount is less than 10 percent of the total dollars in the dataset.

Hi @mstoler 

I am not sure if there is a single tool that can achieve this result. What I can think of is a combination of Tile and Filter tool. In Tile please select Tile method as Equal Sum and No. of tiles are 10. Then filter any of the tile number from 1 to 10.
