read in .txt file as fixed width text file - file format is not valid

Hello

I have been using Alteryx for ages that way. Having a .txt file as input and reading it with "Read it as a fixed width text file"

As of today it comes up with   "File format is not valid" even if I try to read in the file that was ok yesterday. Now it does this to any txt file.

What can be the problem? I have never had issue with this before.

Can you attach a sample text file that gives this error? There could be certain errors with how it is being imported to the workflow.

Thank you for your reply, It does this to any .txt file but for example that one.

I tried just to set it manually. File/Field Layout brings the error. I do not get to Description file and I can still do it as normal on second pc.

It must be some PC or Alteryx setting.

Hi All

I found the problem in my case. It was Windows setting for "Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support" checked that was causing it.

Control Panel > Region > Administrative > Change System locale... Unchecking it sorted the problem.
