i have Microsoft Access installed, and it can successfully connect to my MS Outlook inbox

but when i try to select that Access database file as an alteryx input, i get this error:

this would make sense if MS Access couldnt connect to Outlook, but it can..

does anyone know if there is a solution?

i found a workaround:

1. i created an access database with a connection to my outlook folder
2. then i created an excel file with a connection to the access database

Alteryx can read the excel file
