multi field formula test

i'm trying to use the multi field formula tool which i've not used before.    each row of data contains several fields (colc-colq header)  that need to be tested for presence of 'x'   if the  field contains an 'x'  a counter field should be incremented by 1, which is in a new field called 'x-count'.    The new fields created out of the Multi Field Formula don't need to be retained.  sample data and wf attempt attached.  any help is appreciated - Thanks!

I am afraid that the multi-field tool is not good fit for this case.

A Transpose tool can do it.
