matching Portuguese and English in a join

One file has municipality names spelled ABAETÉ and the other file has it spelled ABAETE (no accent over the last E).   How can I get Alteryx to treat these as equal so the record will join?

Thank you,

Buddy Jones

Hi @buddy_jones

You can use the DecomposeUnicodeForMatch function in a formula tool. This will get rid of the accents (it will also make the string lowercase, so you may need to use a uppercase function as well).
