error Tableau Input Casting from timestamp[ns] to timestamp[s] would lose data

Hi All,

I'm trying to use the Tableau Input tool (TableauInput_1_5_4)  in Alteryx Designer Version: 2025.1.2.142 to extract data from a Tableau Cloud Datasource Published, but I'm getting the following error:

Tableau Input (1) Casting from timestamp[ns] to timestamp[s] would lose data: 1762320264929000000

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix it?

This has to do with a mismatch between how Tableau is establishing it's date/time fields and how Alteryx cares to ingest them.  Your best bet is to see if you can modify the Tableau data to truncate the date up to less granularity so it's more compatible with Alteryx.

I think you could probably also change the timestamps to text on the Tableau side and then re-establish their behavior as date fields once you're back in Alteryx.

I've also seen in other posts that reverting to an older Tableau Input Tool can help too, but I hate to think that's the right recommendation 😀
