different widths of report snippets

Hi,

 

I'm always struggling controlling the widths (or heights) of report snippets when I combine these into one.

 

In attached workflow both snippets are set to a width of 8 inches and a height of 4 inches.

When I've combined them and put them in the lay-out tool they do not show the same width.

Why is this and how can I solve this?
