White space

Hi.

I have a problem. I have a formula: if [period]= '3' then ' 3' endif

When I export to excel the leading white space doesn't exist. How to solve this problem?

@anetal179 I'm pretty sure you will not be able to do this. Excel will read the field as a numeric field and give you the error message letting you know that it automatically updated that field to be a numeric field.

The only way to not let it do this (as far as I know, maybe you can disable this using excel settings config.), would be to make sure there was a text/string value in that field, be it an apostrophe as some of my peers have mentioned or be it a invisible character.
