Where is my control parameter input node?

Hi.. This may be really stupid question, but I don't know why I don't see "reverse ?" for the control parameter input.. 

Can someone tell this newbie why this is the case?

this is because one of your input is not string
in action tool while updating the value you must have replaced "text" instead of text

correct that if that does not work another work around is to add a select tool after both inputs and make your filed string

@Raj Is that related to why I don't see "?" for my control parameter on my macro icon? Thank you for your advice. This is how I used the action tool

@tearless75 you need to save it as a batch macro in order to get that Symbol to appear

This is very odd behavior - can you just confirm that the macro in the screenshot is truly the macro with the control parameter? Right click on the macro and open it up to confirm. 

Otherwise it’s worth submitting a case about this to Alteryx Support via Mission Control
