Where can I download UK road shapefiles for spatial analysis?

Hello,

I am hoping to do some spatial analysis using the UK road network. Does anybody know where I can download the shapefile(s) via the internet?

Thanks!

I'd take a look at OpenStreetMap. It's possible to download all of the data, for example from here: https://data.gov.uk/dataset/3f2cc40a-2547-4cc2-9f12-0c9de9fe581e/openstreetmap

Then tools like Osmosis (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Osmosis) allow you to specify specific elements to isolate (likely to be ways for roads).

You'll then likely get something like an XML file which you can parse in Alteryx and then recreate the spatial objects.
