What's the best way to create a line that crosses through a point at a specified angle?

I have a SpatialObj point. I also have the angle I want my line to be as a column. I'm simply trying to create a line (say 3 miles) that crosses through the point at the specified angle, with the point being the line's midpoint. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
