User unable to run alteryx workflow with sharepoint connector through collection

Question

Hi All,

My Alteryx workflows contains sharepoint connectors and are shared to business users to access and run them through collections. These workflows run fine when scheduled but fails when any other user try to run it.

The error they get is Access Denied (Tool id -1)

I am using Built in App as authentication and provided access to the users in sharepoint input connection in gallery. (attachement)

@Ady2308 , hmmm, I guess some initials thoughts: in Alteryx Designer, did you ensure you synced your credentials with the Server?

That credential that you're sharing, it could be composed of a couple of parts. I've had in the past where I only shared one part of it (and hit permission errors). For instance, in your word doc, you've credentials for OAUTH Session Tokens and Proxy Authentication. I guess it'd make sense that you need to share those parts aswell! Did you try that yet? Are all the relevant parts shared with the user?

Thanks for looking into it, yes, I have shared connection to the user via DCM and also provided access to the connection to the user through gallery.

Workflow is shared through collection. I have also tried transferring ownership to the user but still no luck.

Hi @Ady2308,

When you say that the workflow contains sharepoint connectors, have you shared those connections (that you setup) via DCM? Or did you just share the workflow?

When another user is running the workflow, it's going to check if they've got access to that connection that you created, if not, they shouldn't be able to run the workflow, right?

Let me know if I'm missing something. Happy to try and figure this out 😀.
